"When nothing goes right, go left."

One of the most common complaints, especially from older folk, is joint pain or weak joints. In particular, weak knees. Having this condition, whether through age, wear-and-tear, or medical issue, can seriously affect your quality of life.

You wouldn’t be able to walk for extended periods or distance, for example, and even bending your knees could be an effort.

The most sensible thing to do would be to consult a doctor and get treatment for such conditions, especially if they are chronic or severe.

For those with less serious conditions but who are looking for artificial support for the knees, there is now a device called the power knee stabiliser, or the power knee booster, or spring-support knee brace, or other various descriptions.

What they all mean is a support device which may help those with weak knees, or who want to relieve pressure on the knee joints when doing strenuous activities.

For example, when you walk, or when you have to get up after bending your knees or from squatting down, when you are carrying heavy loads, and even when cycling, or climbing up stairs.

The booster brace is different from a normal knee brace because of the spring component embedded in it. It is this mechanism which gives that added support, or boost, and is claimed to reduce stress on knee joints and lighten about 20kg to 40kg of load or pressure on your knees.

Reviews of the product online are mostly positive, especially among those with knee problems (including arthritis) and among seniors. Less positive reviews, which seem to be a small minority, highlight the weakness of the springs which do not give enough support or boost.
